Leah Hong is joining IDF as Program Partner with diverse experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. Prior to joining IDF, Leah served as Director of Community Impact at Letters Foundation, Doris Buffett’s philanthropic initiative in Boston, where Leah led the Foundation’s community grantmaking and partnership programs to extend flexible funds to families across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
As a licensed social worker, Leah remains steadfast in her commitment to center the dignity and resilience of communities, particularly communities of color, who have been historically marginalized. Her passions for social justice and anti-racism are rooted in her previous life as a frontline youth worker, working directly with youth and families impacted by trauma in New York City and Greater Boston.
Leah holds a B.A. in Literary Studies from The New School in New York City, and a MSW from Boston University School of Social Work.
